Born on June 12, 1966, in Tell City, Brenda was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Jones) Reid. She dedicated over 20 years of her life to serving nutritious meals and fostering a welcoming environment for children at William Tell Elementary School. Brenda went above and beyond to ensure every student felt valued and cared for.
Beyond her work at the school, Brenda was an active community member. She was a lifelong participant at the First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for numerous events and programs. Her dedication to service also extended to the local food pantry, where she spent countless hours assisting those in need.
Family, Friends, and Community Mourn Her Loss
Brenda’s sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Michael Henson; their two children, Sarah (David) Mitchell of Evansville, Indiana, and Brian (Emily) Henson of Louisville, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Mark) Thompson of Tell City, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements and Memorial Contributions
A visitation will be held on March 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. A funeral service celebrating Brenda’s life will take place on March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor James Smith. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the William Tell Elementary School cafeteria fund or the local food pantry—two causes that were dear to Brenda’s heart.
